In 2016, Guo-Liang Wang was one of four Ohio State faculty who were elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Pierce Paul was honored with the OARDCs Distinguished Junior Faculty Research Award and the APS Syngenta Award, for an outstanding recent contribution to teaching, research, or extension in plant pathology.
Thomas K. Mitchell was named the 2016 APS Outstanding Volunteer award. Mitchell is the director of the APS Education Board and was active in an ad-hoc committee to reform APS governance.
Sally Miller completed her tenure as president of the APS. She will continue to serve on the APS-Council as immediate past president. Steve Slack continues to serve as APS treasurer.
