Left: a stand of sycamore trees was lost and sits with a pile of debris.

Crab apple trialsLeft: The Secrest Arboretum was famous for its impressive stands of crabapple trees that provided a spectacular show of blooms every spring.  The stand above (Crablandia I) was a long-term research plot for the International Ornamental Crabapple Society.  While this plot of trees is essentially destroyed, another newer plot (Crablandia II) mostly survived.

Left: white pine trees were sheared.
