Ira Deep and Lansing Williams Plant Pathology Fund (#483174)
Established in 2017 to support graduate education in Plant Pathology, the fund honors Dr. Ira W. Deep, the first chair of the stand-alone Department of Plant Pathology upon its establishment in 1967, and Dr. Lansing E. Williams, associate chair and head of the plant pathology unit at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster. With extraordinary vision and leadership, Deep and Williams laid the foundation upon which we have built internationally renowned Research, Teaching and Extension programs.
Graduate education is a pillar of the department. We have awarded over 500 graduate degrees in our history. Today, graduate enrollment is at an all-time high with 35+ MS and PhD students, and 20+ professional Master in Plant Health Management students. Contributions to this fund will be used to support graduate students for their research, professional development, travel to professional meetings, and other important components of graduate education so we can continue to educate future generations of outstanding plant pathologists and plant health professionals.
To ensure a perpetual impact, you're invited to get involved by making a contribution that will help Plant Pathology meet the global challenges that the next 50 years will surely bring.
