Undergraduate Programs
Plant pathology, or the study of plant disease, is integral to the agricultural, biological and environmental sciences.
The Department of Plant Pathology offers an undergraduate major in Plant Health Management and a minor in Plant Pathology (Major/Minor Checklist). Students take basic core science plus courses in plant pathology, horticulture, soil science and related areas.
For those interested in introductory or general courses, we offer General Plant Pathology (Plant Path 401); Plant Disease Management (Plant Path 603); Bioterrorism: An Overview (Plant Path 455); Societal Issues: Pesticides, Alternatives, and the Environment (Plant Path 597); and an online course, Social Impact of Plant Diseases in Shaping Human Society (Plant Path 201D).
We offer the advantages of a small department in a large university. Excellent courses, internships and work experience opportunities are available. We also have an outstanding scholarship program for Plant Health Management majors. Explore the many opportunities in the Department of Plant Pathology!
