Plant Pathology
Online Courses

What happened to the mighty American Chestnut? Why did the Romans make sacrifices to Robigus, the god of wheat rust? What plant diseases threaten our environment and food supply today? We are offering online courses that explore plant diseases from both historical and scientific perspectives. The courses can be done on your own computer, at your own pace. The content is not heavily technical but rich in information about plant diseases. Topics range from basic concepts and history of plant pathology to famine issues, bioterrorism and more. Who should take these courses? Target audiences include Master Gardeners, crop advisers, professionals in the field, educators, students, and anyone interested learning more about plant diseases. Anyone can register for these courses! |

We are the sole academic unit in Ohio's state university system dedicated to the study of plant diseases and their management. These online courses enable us to reach audiences beyond Ohio State's campus. That's right, these courses are available to anyone - you don't have to be a student at Ohio State to register through the Office of Continuing Education. Today, knowledge and training in plant pathology are more important than ever as we strive towards improved, sustainable practices for agriculture and our environment.
